Jay Leno bought this 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe from the son of a man named Fred who passed away and wanted the car to go to someone who would appreciate and care for it. Jay says it represents a time when America made the best cars in the world. This particular car has been purposely left unmodified and unrestored so that it could just be an enjoyable driver.
I know there’s a lot of stereotypes that link Monster Trucks with a redneck “WOOOOO, Hold My Beer and Watch This!!” mentality. If you go into this video with those stereotypes in mind, you will be surprised. I was. Yes this bit is about a monster truck attempting a long jump record, but that’s just the icing on the cake. The interview with Bigfoot’s owner, Bob Chandler, and Bigfoot 18’s senior driver, Dan Runte, is the real treasure. They talk about the start of what has become a 37 year legacy of motorsports in Bigfoot. It’s an intimate look into what it takes to run the organization and a tribute to the fans that make the whole thing possible. That being said, the long jump is also absolutely incredible. I think the longer it flew through the air, the more my jaw dropped.
The Space Shuttle Endeavour took it’s last flight last weekend on the back of a Boeing 747 to Los Angeles to take its place in the California Science Center. Here are a couple of videos of the last flight that I found on Gizmodo commemorating the occasion.

Red Bull released another promotional video for Julien Dupont, a French trials motocross rider that they sponsor. Here he is having fun in his home town. Dupont described trials motocross as a mix of BMW and freestyle motocross and his sessions in this video really showcase that philosophy.
Here’s some insanity to start your weekend off right. This video is footage from the European Hovercraft Federation. The fact that they named their organization a federation means its serious business. Hovercraft racing is like a crazy bastard Frankenstein of dirt track racing, jet skiing, motocross and drifting. Basically it will rock your face off and stomp on it.
