48 Hours with a Lamborghini Aventador – Car and Driver

I am really enjoying the videos by Car and Driver’s European correspondent, Jethro Bovingdon. This time he takes the Lamborghini Aventador out for a spin. He addresses concerns that Lamborghini’s halo car has gotten soft under Audi’s influence and talks about what makes the car special. There’s a touch of oversteer action, but it’s not the main focus.

Subaru BRZ Impressions

A friend of mine picked up one of the first Subaru BRZ’s in North Carolina last month and he was gracious enough to let me tag along and drive it for a few minutes. This won’t be a complete in-depth review because I wasn’t about to flog my friend’s brand new car. If you’re trying to find out about at-the-limit performance characteristics, read/watch one of the professional media reviews where they beat on a nameless press car. There are plenty of them here on this blog. I’ll be talking more about the philosophy and execution of the car and what kind of buyers it’ll be suited for. The Scion FRS/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 is supposed to be the spiritual successor of the Toyota AE86 (Corolla GT-S Sport RWD here in the US) which I’ve owned one for the last 10 years, so we’ll see if both cars are cut from the same cloth. Hopefully Subaru/Toyota did a great job of modernizing a cult classic.

Why Shocks Matter – RideTech

There is something enthralling about watching muscle cars autocross. It’s just amazing to see something big and powerful also be nimble and agile. I’d say it was all sorts of awesome like a bear that knows how to kickbox. This is a video from RideTech promoting their coilover and air spring performance suspension systems by showing off their customers having some fun at an autocross.

Drag Race: Porsche GT2 RS vs. Ducati 1199 Panigale S

Chris Harris hops into a 997 Porsche GT2 RS to go head to head with his counter part on a Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore. He makes the video fascinating in his usual style by showing the 2 practice runs for the car and the bike. The guys had some trouble figuring out how to get the machines off the line smoothly given the ludicrous amount of power they make. They answered some questions and brought up some new ones for some sequel videos that I’m very much looking forward to.
