Lexus LFA vs. Acura NSX – Motor Trend Head 2 Head
I was pretty surprised to see the title of this comparison pop up on the Motor Trend YouTube channel. I consider the Acura NSX and the Lexus LFA to be the only 2 supercars to come out of Japan due to their unique and exotic construction methods. Johnny Lieberman thinks there are four. I’m assuming the other two are the Toyota Supra and the Nissan GT-R’s. I think the Supra and GT-R toe, but don’t cross, the line between well executed performance cars and true supercars. What do YOU think? Join the discussion over on our Facebook Page. Either way, Lieberman does a good job breaking down why each car is significant to their time periods, how they drive and why you should like them based on his supercar philosophy. Very fascinating comparison.

The Hakosuka Skyline
What is it that makes a car legendary? The first person who could boil it down to a scientific formula would be revolutionize the automotive industry. Unfortunately, it’s never that simple. Legendary cars have an almost mythical attraction to them. The first time you see one, you’re instantly smitten. It’s love at first sight. You can just glimpse this car and without knowing anything else about it, you know it’s something special that speaks to your soul. As far as Japanese cars go, few are as legendary as the Hakosuka Skyline GT-R. It was made starting in 1969 and was the first car from Nissan to wear the GT-R badge and establish its reputation for racing dominance.
RX-7 vs. RX-8 Tsukuba Battle – Best Motoring
The Best Motoring crew rounded up what looks to be all of the rotary engine tuners in Japan for a 5 lap battle around Tsukuba. What’s interesting is that RX-7’s took the top place finishes, but RX-8’s set the fastest lap times. The begs the question of whether or not the RX-8 will establish a reputation for racing as legendary as the FD RX-7. The RX-8 seems to have better suspension design, but the RX-7 is smaller and lighter. It definitely makes for exciting battles like this one. Now that I’m an RX-8 owner (more details to follow), I can understand why rotor heads are so fanatical about these cars.
