Battles at 10,000 rpm – Best Motoring

The Best Motoring crew sets out to find the ultimate naturally aspirated car the only way they know how: a track battle. These guys do car reviews similar to shows like Top Gear, but the big difference is they like to interact with aftermarket tuners such as Spoon, J’s Racing and Powerhouse Amuse. They do a lot of wheel to wheel track racing and touge road racing to compare cars and discuss tuning philosophies. For this particular comparison, they try to find the best of tuned naturally aspirated cars. They talk about the benefits of NA tuning versus turbochargers and then they see whose car is fastest around Tsukuba. The lineup runs from a B18 CRX to a couple of NSX’s, a 350Z and 20b 3-rotor FD RX-7 by RE Amemiya.

Asphalt and Rubber Gets a Good Look at the Mugen Shinden

Asphalt and Rubber was able to get a good look at the Mugen Shinden at the Isle of Man TT. Mugen is the Honda factory tuning company that was founded by Soichiro Honda’s son. It’s thought the racing program for the Honda electric motorcycle was put under the Mugen brand so that it wouldn’t tarnish Honda’s reputation if it were to be a failure. A&R is reporting that most of the bike is carbon fiber and the battery pack makes up over half of its weight which is good evidence that it won’t be a failure. Head over to Asphalt and Rubber to see the rest of the pictures.

Mugen Shinden Takes To The Track

What you are looking at is the Mugen version of the Honda RC-E electric motorcycle. Mugen, which is Japanese for “Infinity,” is Honda’s in-house tuning company for their cars and motorcycles that was founded by Soichiro Honda’s son. Mugen’s version of the RC-E is named the Shinden after a Japanese god of lightning. Mugen will be campaigning the Shinden at an electric motorcycle exclusive racing series called the TTXGP at the Isle of Man. The Shinden will be piloted by British racer John McGuinness.

Tony Stark’s NSX Roadster

Edmund’s Inside Line got a chance to play around with the NSX roadster concept that Tony Stark drives around in the upcoming Avengers movie. Turns out it was built on the chassis of a ’91 NSX. The body panels will fall off if the car goes over 10 mph. The interior is totally stock down to the tape deck. Despite of how cheesy this movie car is, the new NSX should be pretty awesome.
